Terms of Sale and Licence
Last updated: 5 November 2026
Who we are
Derp for DaVinci Resolve (“Derp”) and this website (derp.video) are run by Tiny Turtle Shell LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we”, “us”). Contact: hi@derp.video.
Derp is a Python script that runs inside DaVinci Resolve (free and Studio) and exports your whole project as one FCP7 XML for Premiere Pro.
Buying Derp
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- The price is shown in US dollars before you buy ($19.99 at launch, $29.99 later). Paddle adds any sales tax or VAT at checkout.
- You can also buy Derp on aescripts.com. Those purchases are governed by aescripts’ own terms, EULA and refund policy. These terms still cover how you may use Derp.
- By buying, you agree to these terms and to the Refund Policy.
Your licence
Derp is licensed, not sold. When you pay, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Derp under these terms.
- One licence is for one person.
- You may use it on up to 2 computers that you own or control, but not at the same time.
- Direct purchases get a licence key made for you. It carries your name or email and your order ID, and Derp checks it on your computer.
What you may not do
- Share, resell, rent or publish your licence key, or let others use it.
- Redistribute or sublicense Derp, or modify it and redistribute the result.
- Remove, bypass or tamper with the licence checks.
You keep full ownership of your projects and of the XML files Derp writes.
When the licence ends
The licence ends automatically if you break these terms. You then stop using Derp and delete your copies. Ending a licence for a breach does not entitle you to a refund.
Updates
We may update Derp to fix bugs, support new versions of Resolve or Premiere Pro, or change features. We don’t promise any particular update or support period.
Free trial
The free trial is on aescripts. It exports your whole media pool and three timelines, and aescripts’ terms apply to it. We may change or end the trial at any time.
Refunds
See the Refund Policy. In short: no refunds for a change of mind (the free trial is how you check Derp first), but if Derp doesn’t work on your setup and we can’t fix it, email us within 14 days for a full refund.
No warranty
Derp is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Derp moves your edit, not the look: grades, Fusion comps, effects and titles stay in Resolve, and things like speed ramps and transitions may need checking after import. Check the result before delivery, and keep your own backups.
Limit of liability
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with Derp is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
- To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, such as lost work or lost profits.
- Consumer rights that the law doesn’t let you waive still apply, and nothing here limits them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought applies to that purchase. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page.
No affiliation
Derp is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Blackmagic Design or Adobe. DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro are trademarks of their owners.
